Keratin Tip Hair extensions are applied piece by piece, attached with a keratin protein heated up and rolled around the natural hair. The piece is placed a few millimeters from the root of real hair for flexibility and comfort. The extensions can stay in the hair between three to six months depending on how fast the natural hair grows. This type of installation doesn’t damage your hair, if it is done by a professional.
Step 1:
To install the extensions, your hair should be 5 inches (12.7 cm) minimum so that the attachment points are visible. The extensions are applied 5 mm from the scalp.
Step 2:
Make the Preparation rows.
Select a thin strand of hair using the tail of the comb or fingers.
Step 3:
Insert the piece of hair in the plastic disk to protect the scalp.
Step 4:
Use fusion connector to heat the pre-tipped extensions to natural hair, attaching natural hair on the heated point of keratin.
Step 5:
Roll heated keratin tip around natural hair using fingers (you may use finger protectors).
Step 6:
Make sure the keratin tip is rolled into a cylinder shape and cooled. If not, reheat keratin using fusion connector and repeat rolling.
Step 7:
Repeat the steps to apply keratin tips one by one across the head. Be sure to leave out hair on the edges of the scalp to cover hair extensions.
Step 8:
Use clean, straight lines and refer to hair extension placement diagram when installing hair extensions.
