Did you know that drying your hair can do a lot of damage to your hair? Whether you’re a fan of air drying or the blow dryer, it can cause your hair and your hair extensions to fade and cause split ends.
Below are some hair drying mistakes that we’re all guilty of making:
Not Using a Heat Protectant
When you use a blow dryer on your hair, it’s important to always use a heat protectant. Not using one on your hair can cause your blow out to look dry and lackluster. When you expose your natural hair and your hair extensions to heat, it will speed up the damage and cause it to dry out faster. Heat Protectant should not only be used for blow drying but when using hot tools as well!
Using Hot Tools on Damp Hair
We all know that sometimes you’re in such a hurry that you may start using hot tools on your hair when it’s not completely dry. A BIG rule of heat styling is making sure that your hair is completely dry before applying hot tools. When you don’t wait, you run the risk of completely frying your hair which creates damage and breakage.
Rough Towel Drying
Now that we’ve talked about towel drying, it’s important to not dry your hair roughly. When your hair is wet it is prone to the most damage because the strand is super flexible. So, be gentle on your hair.
Wrapping Your Hair in a Towel
Leaving your hair wrapped in a towel can cause some major damage. When you twist your hair up and leave it there it will cause breakage and can even contribute to hair loss.
